Greywater fills faster than you think

People discover this on day three.

Greywater is everything except toilet waste — sinks, shower, dishes. Less hazardous than black water, but not nothing: food particles, grease, soap and skin cells make it go sour fast in a warm tank.

How to actually extend it: - Wash dishes in a basin, not under running water. This alone can halve your grey production. - Wipe plates before washing. Less grease and food means less smell. - Navy showers — wet, water off, soap, rinse. Cuts shower water by a large fraction. - Catch and reuse. The cold water while you wait for hot is perfectly clean — catch it in a jug for dishes.

The rules: dumping greywater on the ground is regulated and in many places illegal — especially on public land, near water, and in developed campgrounds. It varies enormously by jurisdiction. Know the rule where you are; "everyone does it" isn't a defense and it's a bad look for the whole community.
